The highest Orthodox wooden Church
According to the Russian tradition while making a new settlement, first of all, a foundation of a new Temple had to be done, and then by the God’s blessing to surround it there came the cities and villages. The Temple of St Nicolas the Illuminator – the patron of artisans and merchants – has become the center of the complex. Under its divine shade masters-artisans work and create their masterpieces, the national culture revives, cleans itself from any filth and the souls of visitors fill themselves with peace and comfort. The Temple of St. Nicolas is the highest wooden temple of Moscow. Its height from the basis and up to the top of the cross is 42 meters. The Temple was consecrated to God in 2004 and transferred to the St. Daniel Monastery. Now the divine services are periodically held in it.
